Thousands of citizens committed suicide because of Japanese propaganda

During the war of peaceful in 1944 and during the partner led to Saipan (the largest island of the Commonwealth), the citizens of this island committed suicide in mass to avoid going to American whom they perceived like sanguinary monsters and without pity because of the propaganda arranged by the Japanese army. They were thrown, with their children in the arms, from the top of cliffs on the rocks with the arrises which border the coast.
For the American veterans, this series of suicides in Marpi Not was to remain among the most horrible shows of all the operation of Saipan
